Today we all woke up tired and blurry eyed; however, Tibi bácsi’s birthday woke us right up and set our day off with good spirits. We started our way to Hortobágy where we were given an incredible ride in a carriage to see the traditional farm life in Hungary. After meeting some of the locals and their animals, we were given the option to ride some of their horses and saw some of the amazing tricks Hungarians are capable of with their animals. Our next destination was Debrecen where we toured a several-houndred-year-old school, learned some Hungarian history, and finished with some free time to get to know our newly found friends a little better; whether that was by having an ice cream together or touring some more of the village, we all had a blast. I can’t wait to see what the rest of this camp will bring as all I see in the future week here is fun, friends, and laughter!
